NA PIARSAIGH G.A.A. CLUB NEWS: Our senior hurlers were in County Championship quarter final action on Sunday, when they faced Ahane in the Gaelic Grounds. We began the game brightly and were a few points to the good, inside the first ten minutes. Our half back line of Cathal King, David Breen and captain James O Brien were in good form, winning their tussles and supplying good ball forward. Our midfield work tirelessly throughout, until Alan Dempsey was forced off through injury in the second half. The half time score was Na Piarsaigh 1-06 to Ahane 0-04, with our goal coming from the stick of Kevin Downes. The second half was one way traffic, with two further goals coming from Adrian Breen and Kevin Downes. Overall job done and march on to the semi final and a repeat of last years semi final versus Kilmallock, in two weeks time. Kieran Breen, Niall Buckley, Alan Dempsey, Kevin Ryan and William O Donoghue were our stand out performers on the day. Final score Na Piarsaigh 3-16 to Ahane 0-08. Our Intermediate Camogie girls were in County quarter final action on Saturday evening in Ballyagran, when they faced Tournafulla. Minus several first team regulars, we struggled to field a team, but those who did were excellent throughout and proved too good for their opponents. Our full back line of Aideen McNamara and Clara Dillon excelled throughout, snuffing out any danger that came their way. Olivia Barrett, Jane Wilson and Leanne Egan were solid in the half backline, clearing their lines all evening. In midfield, were the excellent Sinead McNamara and woman of the match Christine O Shea, who covered every blade of grass, whilst up front Gemma Healy at centre forward and Aoife Wilson at full forward were a thorn in Tournafullas side all night. Best on the night were Collette McNamara, Christine Farrell, Fiona Grimes, Olivia Barrett, Gemma Healy and Christine O Shea. Final Score Na Piarsaigh 2-11 Tournafulla 0-03. Team: Laura O Neill, Clara Dillon, Aideen McNamara(0-1), Olivia Barrett, Jane Wilson, Leanne Egan, Christine O Shea(0-1), Sinead McNamara(0-02), Gemma Healy, Fiona Grimes(1-0), Collette McNamara, Aoife Wilson(1-7,2f), Christine Farrell.

OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY CHRISTIAN MEDITATION: This alternative form of prayer, takes place each Monday evening in Our Lady Of The Rosary Church, after Adoration at 7 pm. Many thousands of people all over the world have found their spiritual lives enriches by the practice of Christian Meditation. Christian Meditation has been practiced since the foundation of the Church and was reintroduced by the late John Main, who was a Benedictine monk. We say a prayer word, which we call a mantra and this word is repeated, all during the meditation. A difficulty for people are the constant distractions - we do not fight them; we treat them as background noise. Maybe you have attempted Meditation on some previous occasion, but do not be discouraged, as each attempt is regarded as a new beginning. The goal of Meditation is to keep The Lord Jesus, in Reverence in our hearts and to be open to His Presence in silence and stillness. Meditation helps people to be in a state of empathy with God. The weekly meeting, helps people in the daily practice of Meditation in their lives.
