Askeaton GAA: A huge congratulations to everyone who attended our Gathering-Memorial weekend from start to finish, it was brilliant. Thank you to all that helped at the Mass, the field and Downes Bar.

Going strong club: The Going Strong Club will resume its activities on Tuesday, September 17, commencing with mass at 3pm. We hope to see some new faces for the coming season. If you need transport to the hall, ring Breda on 086-3481586.

Pilates: Registration for pilates with weights for beginners and intermediates on Tuesday, September 10, from 6pm to 7pm, in Askeaton hall. For more information, contact Nicole Brennan at 086-8140593.

5k fun run/ walk for cancer: Askeaton Sunday, September 15. Starts at 2pm at the Hall. Registration starts at 12 noon at the Hall. The fee is €10 for adults and is €5 for students and OAPs. This is an opportunity to get out with friends and neighbours and work mates while contributing to the fight against cancer. If you are not up to doing the walk, refreshments will be available at the Hall afterwards and we plan to have some entertainment also and it will be a chance to contribute to the fundraiser. This event is being organised by the local heroes group part of Askeaton/Ballysteen community council. Information is available from Noelle Dalton at 086-0812891.

Line dancing: Line dancing classes start in Kilcornan community hall on Monday, September 9, between 7pm and 8pm. Each class is €7. All dancers are welcome.
