Doon Sept 7

Farewell: This week we bid farewell to Fr. Danny O’Gorman as he takes up his new assignment in Moyglass, Killenaule. Diocesan changes were announced during the week and with two parish priests retiring – Fr. Liam Ryan PP Killenaule and Fr. Rochford PP Emly and a curate- Fr. James O’Donoghue CC taking up a full time assignment as Chaplain to Limerick Regional Hospital, effectively we are three priests less and so changes ensued. Fr. Danny was with us just for 12 months and was in the process of getting to know his parishioners, very faithful to all his pastoral duties, celebrating the sacraments, visiting the sick, actively involved in the “Do this in Memory” program for 1st communicants, diocesan chaplain to the travelling community and a member of the Cashel & Emly diocesan council of priests. A very sincere and deeply committed priest. We will miss Fr. Danny and we wish him well in his new ministry in the parish of Killenaule, Moyglass.
