In this course, participants will explore key concepts such as sustainability & quality of life, carrying capacity and sustainable communities. They will gain awareness of the interconnectivity of development issues and systems (including environmental, societal, and economic), and develop abilities in problem solving, critical thinking, systems thinking, analysis, facilitation and communication. Participants draw up a vision of a sustainable community, set sustainability indicators, carry out a life cycle analysis and develop a workshop on an environmental issue of their choice, incorporating education for sustainable development methodologies.
