BALLYGIBLIN HURLERS INTO SEMI FINAL: Ballygiblin Under 21 B hurlers had a close win over Harbour Rovers in the Under 21 B HC quarter final at Kilworth on Sunday morning. It was close game all through with the Glanworth side holding a goal lead at the half time 1-5 to 0- 5. Ballygiblin forced level 1- 5 to 0- 8 but a second goal for Glanworth midway through the second half had them 2- 6 to 0- 1 clear. Ballygiblin battled to the end and at the end of normal time the sides were level 2- 8 to 0- 14. Deep in injury time Dean Barry had the winning point. MITCHELSTOWN GAA: Mitchelstown Junior A footballers face Kilmichael in the Co JAFC quarter final this Friday evening in Pairc Ui Rinn at 6.30pm.

THE LATE MICHAEL MURPHY: There was a great sense of shock throughout the region on Saturday when news broke of the tragic death of Michael Murphy a 14 year from Glanworth who died following a fall from a tractor. The late Michael was a very keen sportsman at Hurling, Football and Soccer. He was also very keen in farm machinery. There was a huge gathering at his funeral on Sunday and Monday in Glanworth. Interment took place in St Dominic Cemetery. Members of the Glanworth GAA friends and school mates at St Colman’s Fermoy formed a guard of honour as the funeral left the home on Sunday night to the local Church. The Church was packed to capacity on Monday for the Requiem Mass . To his parents Frances, Patrick, brother Dean, grandparents uncles John, Thomas, Mike Sean, aunt Tina, relatives neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

FERMOY HOSPITAL: The fundraising committee of Fermoy Hospital are very grateful to all those who supported the Church Gate collection in Mitchesltown, Kilbehenny, Kilacluig and Ballygiblin last week end. Sincere thanks also to those who carried out the collection for this very worthy cause.

BARN DANCE: There will be a Barn Dance at Gortnahown Farm on the Mitchesltown Kilworth old road this Saturday night September 7. This is a fund raiser for Partners in Learning. Music by The Wizards.
