FASHION SHOW IN AID OF LIMERICK YOUTH PILGRIMAGE: A Fashion Show will take place in Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel, Adare on Tuesday, 16 April 2013, commencing at 8.00p.m. Shops taking part are Bella Sola and Kimono, Newcastlewest, Mike O’Connell Menswear and Dress Hire, Limerick. MC on the night will be Richard Lynch of ILOVELIMERICK.com Hair will be by Marys Hair Salon, Croom. A Cheese and Wine Reception will precede the show. On the night there will be a prize for Best Dressed Woman and Trendiest Man. Some of the young people will perform Live Entertainment at the interval. Every year 90 young people from all over Limerick travel to Lourdes as part of the Diocesan Pilgrimage. The young people go as volunteers and spend the week working as helpers; bringing patients to and from the various ceremonies, as well as talking, listening and getting to know them. The generosity of the young people ensures that the Diocese can bring lots of Limerick patients and know that the young people who travel will make the experience memorable for the patients. Monies raised from this fashion show will all go towards the Limerick Youth Pilgrimage. Your support would be very much appreciated. LIMERICK WEST GIY: Limerick West GIY, with the aim of inspiring people to grow their own food, will hold its next meeting on Thursday 18 April at 7.00pm sharp in D&M Garden Centre, Croagh with new growers and old hands all welcome. This month’s talk will be given by Chris who will speak about companion planting and it’s benefits. We will also be our second seed/plant swap of the season so please bring any unwanted seeds or excess plants and who knows you might just pick up that seed/plant you have been looking for. There is no need to bring anything if you don’t have spares and you can still take what you see during the swap. From June/July we will be taking Limerick West GIY on the road visiting some of the many interesting gardens of other members. If you would like to host a meeting at your garden let us know at the next meeting and a month that would suit.

CHARITY 5 KM RUN/WALK: On Saturday April 27 at 7.20 pm Friends of Limerick ‘73 will hold a charity 5 Km Run/Walk in Knockane, Pallasgreen. Runners €10 and walkers €5 with all proceeds going to Milford Care Centre, MS Limerick and Lisnagry Association Limerick. A special aspect is our “best of three times” team event. There is no limit to the number of participants on a team but the three lowest times will count. The team with the lowest aggregate times will be the winner. So any GAA, Family, Soccer, Rugby team can participate and make the event a bit more special. As luck would have it we are competing with the Munster Rugby Game and The Limerick Football game which commence at 5.00pm. The Idler Bar will be showing the games should you wish to get here early. We can stall the start to 7.20pm . We ask you to make a special effort to attend and thanking you in anticipation of your support. We look forward to seeing you on the night. ADARE PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP: Adare Mother and Toddler Group is held in the upstairs room in the Heritage Centre. They meet at 10.15 until 12.15. They would like to issue a special invitation to all parents of children from 0-5 to come and join us on Friday mornings especially Dads, childminders and grandparents minding children in the afore mentioned age group. If you are expecting your first baby and would like some advice and a chat please do come along. The cost is €3 per family and includes tea, coffee, biscuits and treats for the toddlers! ADARE MARKET: Adare County Market is held every Saturday from 10am to 2pm in front of the Village Hall. There are a wide variety of artisan, homemade goods for sale which including Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Home Baking, Handknits, Handmade Greeting Cards and Jewellery, Free Range Eggs, Homemade Jams (Seasonal), Handmade Crafts including an Alterations Service.
