Parteen National School Building Fund:
Parteen N.S. will be holding a fundraiser to raise funds for an extension to new classrooms. They will be holding a fun run 10k run/5k walk this Sunday 10th February. Registration will take place between 11am and 12pm at McMahons Bar, Blackwater, Ardnacrusha. Walkers will start at 12.30pm and runners will start at 1pm. There will be tea and coffee and finger food available. It will be a fun day for all the family with spot prizes galore. Parteen All Weather Pitch Training Schedules:
The following is the training schedule for the All Weather Pitch in Parteen. U12 hurlers will meet every Monday between 6.30 and 8pm. U16/Minor hurlers will meet every Tuesday between 6.30-8pm. U6/8’s hurling and camogie will meet every Wednesday between 6.30-8pm. U10 hurlers will use the pitch every Thursday between 6.30-8pm, U14 hurlers will also use the pitch on the same evening, Thursday, between 7.30-9pm. Camogie (10/12/14’s) will use the pitch every Friday between 6.30-8pm and camogie (12/14’s) will avail of the pitch every Sunday between 12-2pm.
Training will resume after registration for various teams this week. The team management will text parents to confirm start dates.
Parteen GAA Club are planning to hold registration nights in Parteen National School on Tuesday, 5th February between 6.30-8pm and Scoil Ide National School on Wednesday, 6th February between 6.30-8pm.The Club will also hold a registration morning on Saturday, 9th February at the grounds from 11am to 1pm.
Parteen GAA Club has ordered a new defibrillator. There will be a fundraiser organised shortly to help with the costs.
Lotto draw took place on Sunday 3rd Feb at Meelick Tavern.

“The Blackwater Tragedy”
The venue for the forthcoming history lecture by Tom Toomey about “The Blackwater Tragedy”, advertised in last week’s Clare Champion, has been changed to Browne’s Pub, Parteen. The time and date, 7.30pm, Wednesday 20th February, are unchanged. The talk is being organised by the Meelick-Parteen & Cratloe Commemoration Committee who will be unveiling a new monument to mark the event this Easter. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Season two of the popular Come Dine with me will kick off at the Daggers bar on Thursday, 7th February. Two aspiring chefs will battle it out on Thursday nights and contestants will vote on each dish.
