Kilteely/Dromkeen Notes (by David O’Meara)
GAA: Juvenile Club: Feile na nGael 2013, a nationwide competition for U14 hurling is coming to Limerick this year and we are delighted to announce that the Juvenile club will be taking part and hosting a team. The dates are fixed for the weekend of July 5/6/7 and we would urge all parents of children involved in this age group to keep that weekend clear, indeed this will be such an exciting weekend that nobody will want to miss it. “Hosting” a team means a club from another County or Country will be staying with local families, both adults and children, and all people in that house over 18 will have to be Garda vetted, a standard procedure that all people involved with coaching child go through at present. There will be many events planned over the weekend to keep the visiting team and the locals entertained, this is a major event that only comes to Limerick every 10 years or so don’t miss it.

SOCCER: In the U14 league we took on second placed Rathkeale who are one point behind us.We took the lead through Brian O’Grady mid-way through the first half. It was 1-0 at the break but Rathkeale came out fighting and equalised early in the second half. Things got worse when they took the lead with 10 minutes left. Our boys never gave up,Dylan Holmes smashed a shot onto the crossbar before Sean McCarthy equalised with a super solo goal to leave it 2-2 at the end. With three games to go we remain on top by one point. Our young U11 team, all bar two are underage again next year, made the long trip to Kilbeheny. Nothing went right in the first half as we missed alot of chances and Kilbeheny took theres to lead 3-0. We dominated the second half and were rewarded when new boy Stephen Power scored to leave it 3-1 at the finish.
