I had a great catch-up with all my old showbiz pals at the VIP Style Awards including Alan Hughes, Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh, Amanda Brunker, Brian Ormond and Noel Cunningham

THERE was a great representation from Limerick at last Friday night’s VIP Style Awards in the Marker Hotel in Dublin.

Hitting the red carpet in show-stopping dresses were Limerick’s finest young fashionistas including Leanne Moore, Madeline Mulqueen and Emma O’Driscoll who stole the show in their designs from Ivory Closet and Marion Murphy Cooney. We were all so proud when Leanne walked away with the award for Best Newcomer. Host for the evening was Brendan Courtney who changed his outfits more times than Beyonce at one of her gigs. It is now 13 years since I won the first VIP Style Award and since then I haven’t missed a year being part of this wonderful fashion event. I am involved in this industry for so long, and the VIP Awards are a great opportunity to catch up with my contemporaries in the showbiz world. My own dress, which was greatly admired, was from Ela Maria in Newcastle West.
