Parteen GAA: Parteen Intermediate hurlers will take on Clarecastle in the Championship next Saturday at 2pm. All support welcome.

Parteen St. Nicholas Lotto Draw: Lotto draw took place at Daggers Blackwater on Monay 30th Sept for a jackpot of €20,000.
The numbers drawn were 1, 7, 10 & 12.

Limerick Bridge Congress: The 49th Limerick Bridge Congress will be held this year in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ennis Road, Limerick from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th October. There will be competitions for all grades of bridge players from Novices to Master Players and there will be Open Pair each day and evening. Any bridge players from Meelick/Parteen are welcome to our 49th Limerick Bridge Congress.

Gathering: A huge crowd is expected at “The Gathering of the friends of Fr. Browne” at Daggers Bar, Blackwater on Friday December 6th. Tickets for the function will be on sale shortly at 5 euro each and all will be donated to Milford Hospice where Fr. Browne spent his final weeks. Local musicians will provide the music and finger food will be kindly provided and sponsored by Ray McMahon.

On the night also, a DVD will be launched featuring life in the parish in the 60s through the lens of the late Fr. Browne including athletics, track & field events, parish outings, pioneer rallies, the visit of the late President Éamon de Valera to Parteen and a recorded interview with Fr. Browne himself when he was a guest at the Meelick School 50th Anniversary Celebrations four years ago.

Committee Chairman Tony Keogh said, “We have received calls from all over from people who want to be there and the DVD will be launched on the night and available for immediate sale”.
