CEILI: The next ceili night at Halla Tadhg Gaelach in Tournafulla will take place on Friday October 11th to commence at 9:30pm. Music for the evening by the Johnny Reidy Ceili Band. So don those dancing shoes and waltz along to what will be a most enjoyable evening.

FORESTRY MASS: The 60th Anniversary Commemorative Forestry Mass will take place at the Forestry. Entrance on the Lake Road Dromdeveen Upper on Sunday 13th October at 3pm. The roads will be signposted from Broadford Village Ashford and Tournafulla and all are welcome.

ADULT SET DANCING: The Adult Set Dancing classes have commenced in Halla Tadhg Gaelach in Tournafulla from last night i.e. Tuesday October 1st and will continue each Tuesday night. All are welcome and the classes will commence at 8:30pm.

POLLING: Polling day is this Friday October 4th and all booths will be open from 7am to 10pm, and when you go to vote be sure to bring evidence of identity as you may be asked for same. All persons will be required to vote on the 32nd Amendment of The Constitution i.e. Abolition of Seanad Eireann Bill 2013 and also the 33rd Amendment of the Constitution i.e Court of Appeal Bill 2013. Please exercise your franchise.

€2000 45 DRIVE: The annual €2000 45 drive takes place on Tuesday November 19th at 9pm in the Community Hall Raheenagh. All patrons are welcome to gamble along. All proceeds from same will go towards the Hall’s ongoing expenses.

TEA DANCING: This Sunday October 6th the next Afternoon Tea dancing takes place from 3 to 6pm in Monagea Parish Hall. A novel way to waltz a Sunday afternoon away.

LOTTO: St Ita’s Field Development Lotto results from September 20th with numbers drawn 8, 14, 30 and 32 and there was no jackpot or match three winner drawn. The four €30 lucky dip winners were Geraldine Ambrose seller Mary Anglim, Ann and Moss Browne seller Kevin Browne, Helen Collins seller Joanne Relihan, Mike Cummane seller Phil Casey.

The lotto results from September 26th with numbers drawn 15, 18, 24 and 25 and there was no jackpot or match three winner drawn. ROSARY SUNDAY: The annual Rosary Sunday pilgrimage to Knock is scheduled to take place on Sunday October 6th. A coach will depart the Market Yard Newcastle West at 7:45am serving pilgrims en route. All pilgrims interested the contact is Pat on 069-62306.

WEST LIMERICK SET DANCING CLUB: The West Limerick Set Dancing Club will hold a ceili at the Devon Inn Hotel, Templeglantine on Sunay October 6th at 4pm with music by Star of Munster and all are welcome to waltz along.

DRAW RESULTS: The results of the Killeedy Camogie/GAA/Bord Na nOg draw were as follows: first prize two All Ireland Hurling tickets won by John Angland Co. Kildare. Second prize: Two All Ireland Football tickets won by Sean Butler Co. Kerry. Third prize Two All Ireland Camogie ticket won by Liam Foley Co. Limerick. Fourth prize; Weekend for two in the Vienna Woods Hotel, Christopher Griffin, Mullingar Co. Westmeath.

The results of the Limerick supports club training fund draw: first prize Two All Ireland Hurling tickets won by Philip Purcell. Second prize Two All Ireland Hurling tickets won by Noel Corbett. Third prize €50 won by Brien Wilmott Rathkeale.

CHURCH AFFAIRS: The Eucharistic Ministers for both Saturday and Sunday Masses please check own personal rotas for this week. The Apostolate of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration continues on Friday’s in Ashford Church. The reader for Raheenagh Mass this Saturday evening is Mary Doody with basket collector Michael Manley. The reader for Mass in Ashford on Sunday Morn is Patricia McEnery Noonan with basket collector Liam Kelly and altar server for the week T.J. Kelly Ballagh.

SYMPATHY: Deepest sympathy is tendered to Hannah Long and family Raheenagh on the recent death of Tom Long Killacullen Tournafulla a brother to the late John Long Hannah’s husband. Requiem Mass at 12:30pm on Thursday last at St Patrick’s church Tournafulla. The late Tom was laid to rest in the nearby cemetery. Deepest sympathy to his family and may the peace of heaven be his.

HARVEST MASS: This coming weekend October 5th and October 6th the Harvest Mass will take place in both churches. These masses are in thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest and the recent beautiful sunny Summer. It is now time to say and offer thanks for all blessings great and small.
