CHURCH MATTERS: At a meeting of the people who arrange the rota for Tuesday adoration held last Thursday night, a new arrangement was decided on. Each Tuesday adoration will commence at 5.30pm, concluding with Mass at 7.30pm.

COLLECTION: The annual collection for the Propagation of the Faith will be taken up at all Masses next weekend.

BINGO: Tarbert Bingo Jackpot is tottering around the €1000 mark and some lucky player could be a winner tonight. Play starts at 8:30pm.

CLOTHES COLLECTION: Shannonside Women’s Group will hold a clothes collection on October 3 from 8 to10am in the church carpark. Clean men’s, women’s and children’s clothes, bed linen, curtains, towels, shoes bags and old mobile phones will be accepted.

ANNUAL RETREAT: Tarbert Community Services Annual trip to Ardfert Retreat Centre will take place on Wednesday October 9, 2013. The bus leaves the Square at 12 noon and calls to Ballyheigue Grotto on route. Transport is provided free by Tarbert Community Services. Persons wishing to travel should submit their names to Joan Lavery or Michael Kelly on or before Sunday, October 6.

SHAUN HOLLY: Congratulations to Shaun Holly, Tarmons who tutored three Kinsale Community School students representing Ireland to win the EU Young Scientist competition, beating entries from 37 other European countries.

NEWLY WEDS: Congratulations to Martina Sweeney and Christopher O’Mahony who were married at St. Mary’s Church Tarbert on Friday September 27. Wishing the happy couple a long happy, healthy and prosperous life together.

GAA LOTTO: There was no winner of last week’s lotto draw. The numbers drawn were; 16, 20, 23 and 25. Lucky Dips Anita Barrett, Mike Fitzgerald, Marie Holly, Nell Heffernan, Nora Fitzgerald. Next week’s draw will take place in the Swanky Bar with a jackpot of €4,000. Thanks to all those who continue to support the Lotto.
