Doon Tidy Towns 2013: We are presently preparing for this year’s tidy towns competition, adjudication will take place throughout the month of June – 3 weeks away. As part of our preparation, householders and business proprietors are asked to have their properties presented in the best possible fashion.  

St. Joseph’s Secondary School: the school is looking for memorabilia from past pupils.  We are particularly interested in finding past uniforms from before the current blue school uniform.  Please contact the school office on (061) 380378 if you can offer any information. 

The Board of Management of St. Joseph’s Secondary School cordially invites Parents, students and members of the public to our closing Mass Ceremony for St. Joseph’s Secondary School on Friday 24th May 2013 at 7.30pm, in Doon Parish Church with refreshments and Commerative Book launch in Doon Community Hall afterwards.

Ballyhoura Rural Services (BRS): is now operating a “Community Phone Link” service, in addition to our existing visitation centre.  “Community Phone Link” consists of a friendly phone call once or twice a week from a trained member of staff and is available to anybody in the Ballyhoura area who would appreciate a regular call, particularly elderly people.  The service is free of charge and operated Mon. to Fri. from 9am-5pm.  If you would like to register for this service, or if you know somebody who may be interested in receiving a friendly call, please contact Kay Kennedy 383666.
