Ladies Football: Lattin-Cullen Under 16s travelled to New Inn on last Bank Holiday Monday to play Thurles Sarsfields in a Shield C Plate Final. From the start Thurles Sarsfields were very strong and showed a lot of potential scoring within the first five minutes. Lattin had a good few chances, but the wind was at their disadvantage. By half time the score was Thurles 2-5 to Lattin Cullen 1-3. After some inspirational words from their trainers, Michael Quirke, Joan O’Donoghue and John Quirke, Lattin Cullen came out in fighting form and staged an excellent come back. It wasn’t long before both teams were level and In the last few minutes Lattin managed to get two points from play. Everyone played to the best of their ability and in the end with Lattin emerged victorious on a final score of Lattin Cullen 3-7 Thurles 3-5. This was a great achievement, as last year we were unable to field an U16 team. The team lined out as follows: Noelle Looby, Grainne Cole, Maria Nash, Caitlin Buckley, Orla Landers, Aisling Ryan, Helen Quirke, Katie O’Donoghue, Lara O’Dwyer, Megan O’Neill, Emer Quirke, Clodagh Cunningham, Hannah Dawson, Grainne Looby and Jenny Quirke.
