BALLYBROWN NATIONAL SCHOOL NEWS: Excellence and endeavour in Handwriting and Art are highly prized in Ballybrown National School. These were recognised last Friday when Mary Corby and Damien O Brien of the Ballybrown / Clarina Community Games visited the school to present medals to the prizewinners in the local heats of the Community Games. A total of 32 boys and girls received medals and they now advance to the County Final stage. Children from Senior Infants all the way up to Sixth Class were honoured for their high standard. Eoin Corby, who is in Fifth Class will represent the school in swimming in the National Minor (primary) schools final in Leisureland in Galway on March 10, while his classmate Conor O Neill will be the school’s standard bearer in the RTE 2 /Eason’s Spelling Bee competition on Thursday March 7. Best wishes to everybody in their efforts.
