CAMOGIE: Congratulations to Roisin O’Shaughnessy and Aoibh O’Sullivan who won the county U 12 camogie final, playing with croagh kilfinny last Thursday evening. They beat Ballybrown in Neville park, Rathkeale.
SET DANCING: Fancy a bit of fun and exercise at the same time? Set dancing takes place at Kilcornan House every Monday night from 8.30 to 10.30 pm at a modest charge of €5. All are welcome, including beginners.
THANK YOU: A huge thanks to all who supported the fund raising at the Community Centre Kilcornan on Sunday September 15. The amount raised on the day was €1,098. We also received some very generous donations which amounted to €1,570 giving a grand total of €2,668. This enables us to supply basic food for 270 families for 7 days over Christmas. A special thanks to all the “Bakers” and “Helpers” on the day, without you this day would not be such a great success. Mass will be offered for your intentions in Kilcornan and South Africa.
FANCY DRESS: Coach Inn (The Kilcornan House) will play host to the 2nd Annual Kilcornan AFC Fancy Dress with a live Draw for a €1000. This year DJ Evan will play from early to late. A great night was had last year and this year promises to be even better, with prizes for best fancy dress and a raffle for super spot prizes its sure to be an unbelievable night of entertainment.
Tickets for the €1000 draw are available now at €5 per ticket. Bring this ticket on the night and enter the fancy dress for just another €5. SALESIAN COLLEGE: The first school fundraising event will be our annual Bosco Tea Party which takes place on Friday, October 11, 2013. We greatly appreciate the support of our parents for this event. A table of eight people €100. Contact the school office 061 393105 for further details.
WELLNESS WORKSHOP: The Limerick Federation of the ICA are holding a full day training session at the Day Care Centre, Drombanna on October 12 from 9.30 am to 5pm. Such sessions are being held countrywide by SOS that is ‘Suicide or Survive’ aimed at promoting good mental health and combating negative and destructive psychological conditions. FUN NIGHT: KILCORNAN COMMUNITY CENTRE is the venue for a Fun Night on Thursday October 17, commencing at 8.15pm. Among the entertainment listed is Padini the Clown followed by an upcycling presentation by Breda McKeon. Entry fee €10 which includes tea and coffee. Bí linn agus Fáilte.
GROW IT YOURSELF: Limerick West G.I.Y. with the aim of inspiring people to grow their own food is back indoors for the winter months as we return to D & M Garden Centre, Croagh on Thursday October 17 where the subject for discussion will be on Wild Foods along with all the usual topics. The meeting will start at 7.00 pm sharp and all are welcome from the beginner to the experienced old hand. As with all G.I.Y. meetings there is no charge to join.
