Soccer Lotto: The numbers drawn last weeks soccer lotto were 1, 3, 7 and 24. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. The winners in the lucky dip draw were Kate Downey, Tournafulla, Derek Power C/O Kostal, Joanne McCarthy, Abbeyfeale, Denny McCarthy, Mountcollins and Thomas Shine, Rockchapel. The winner of the promoter’s prize was Bret Audsley. This week’s jackpot will be €12,700.
Dancing Classes: Adult set dancing classes are now underway in Tournafulla for the Winter months. Halla Tadgh Gaelach is the venue every Tuesday night with classes commencing at 8.30pm. Tuition is available for all the popular sets and all are welcome.
Ceili: The next ceili in Halla Tadgh Gaelach, Tournafulla will be held on Friday, October 11. Dancing will commence at 9.30pm to the music of the popular Johnny Reidy Ceili Band. There will be refreshments available during the evening and all are welcome.
GAA Lotto: The members drawn in last weeks Mountcollins / Tournafulla G.A.A. lotto were, 2, 10, 21, 25. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. Lucky dip prizes went to Mary Breen, Tournafulla, Teddy Alex, C/O Kostal, Bridget Cahill, Mountcollins and Johnny Brosna, Tournafulla. The winner of the promoters prize was Sinead Reidy. This weeks draw will be held in Tommy Mick’s Bar, Mountcollins, where the jackpot will be €1,600 and your support is appreciated.
GAA Club: The annual general meeting of Mountcollins GAA club will be held in the Community Centre on Saturday, October 26 and all are welcome. The final football competition of the year is the under 21 championship which gets underway on October 25th. Mountcollins will have a number of players on the Feale Rangers side. The Mountcollins/Athea amalgamation will play in the Premier grade this year.
Sports Partnership: Limerick Sports Partnership will run a six week exercise for health programme called “Fit Walk” in the Mountcollins Community Centre commencing tonight, Wednesday from 7pm to 8pm. Australian Success: Congratulations to local player Maire Lyons who had a double success with her adopted club, Michael Cusacks in Sydney over the weekend. On Saturday she was a member of the New South Wales camogie team which won the Australasian championship while on Sunday she was part of the New South Wales football team that won the ladies senior state cup. The competitions included teams from all over the states. It was a busy week for Maire as she is also club secretary. The teams also include Sarah Nix, Feohanagh, Kate Galvin, Croom and Linda Lodge, Coolcappa. Well done to all.
