First Holy Communion: Children attending Scoil Dean Cussen, Bruff, will receive their First Holy Communion in Bruff Church on next Saturday, 25th May. The ceremony commences at 11a.m.

Gala Week-End: Arrangements are being made by Meanus Social Club for the Gala Week-End which they are holding on 28th, 29th and 30th June. More details will be given later.

Saggart Pilgrimage: The Annual Saggart Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place this year from 22nd to 27th September. For booking forms or further information please contact Fr. Joe Foley at 087 2618412 or Eileen Irwin at 087 6628288.

Bruff Community Playground Committee: The club would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported the recent Dog Night which netted over €3,000. To all who bought tickets, sponsored races, bought ads or supported the raffle on the night – a huge Thank You.

Greybridge Classic Club: are holding a Motor Bike run (approx 80 km) from Dempsey’s on next Sunday, 26th May commencing at 12 noon. Breakfast will be available. The return time is approx 3.30 p.m. All size bikes are eligible to take part. All proceeds will go to The Guide Dogs for the Blind and all welcome to support this worthy cause.

Cards continue each Sunday night in Meanus commencing at 8.30 p.m. All welcome to attend.

Bord Na nOg: Our u14 hurlers continue their preparation for the Feile with two good wins in challenge matches against Adare and Ahane.

The championship campaign begins on Wed 29th May with a home game against Ballybrown. Throw in 7pm.

The u16 footballers played their last game before the exam break against a strong Pallasgreen side.

Some outstanding saves by goalkeeper Patrick Ladderman and good defensive displays by Brian Bulfin and Daniel Clifford kept the boys in the game in the first half.

Pallas proved too strong in the second half and eventually ran out winners with some well taken points.

Congratulations to Scoil Dean Cussen who beat Kilmallock in the South final.

Well done to Danny O’Leary and Kevin Bonner who were on the South Schools team that won the Mackey cup.

Also on the schools front congrats to Paul O’Riordan, Timothy McSweeney and David Mulqueen who helped Kilmallock Secondary school win the County final against Crescent Comp.

Best of luck to all lads in second class making their First Communion in Bruff on Sat 25th.
