Seven Steps: The next seven steps meeting will take place on Monday, 27th May, at 7.30pm in Castlemahon Sacristy. All interested in taking part are welcome to attend.

Coolyroe Summer Fair: On Sunday next, May 26th, crowds will make their way from far and near to the well organised summer fair at Coolyroe, which begins at 12.30pm. Looking forward to good weather conditions on Sunday, as this will be an Ideal occasion to bring along your family and friends to enjoy a good afternoon. There will be bargains galore at all stalls and good prizes to be won also on the wheel of fortune. Other attractions include Face Painting, Penalty Kicks and a special raffle with Fr. Duggan’s super prizes. All proceeds from next Sundays summer fair will be shared equally between Church Funds and the new Feohanagh Castlemahon Hall.

Sympathy: Sincere sympathy to Donie and Mary Young and family, Feohanagh, On the death of Kit Kelliher nee Curtin, Kilmeedy. May she rest in peace.

ICA: A meeting was held on May 13th. A vote of sympathy was expressed to the families and relatives of the following who died recently: Kathleen Blake, Joe O’ Brien, Bernadette O’Connor, Norrie Griffin, Tom Meehan, Con Twomey, Dan Dempsey and John Browne, May they Rest In Peace. The Guild had a meal out at the Devon Inn Hotel, Templeglantine, on May 20th, the next outing is on Monday 27th May, to the garden centre in Broadford. There is one more meeting on June 9th, when we will take a summer break. Lets hope the sun shines. The federation held a walk on May 19th in aid of Breast Cancer, Castlemahon Guild will hold a walk later for breast cancer, the proceeds will be forwarded to the federation. The raffle was won by Ann Marie O’Brien. The competition winners were 1st Bridie O’Connor, 2nd Ann Lynch and 3rd Annette Coughlan. The meeting concluded with exercises to get us into shape for the walk and summer activities ahead, the bones were creaking but with a bit if determination we will be fighting fit for the holidays.

Red Cross Merit Award: Congratulations to Castlemahon’s Mai O’Connor who was recently presented with a 60 year Merit certificate and a medal in recognition for her long service to the red cross organisation. Mai was founder member of Castlemahon I.C.A and was one of the 6 Founder members of Castlemahon History Group going back to 1981. Congratulations to Mai from all her friends in Castlemahon.

Wedding Bells: It was the May Bank holiday weekend and the first signs of summer were here for the wedding on Saturday May 4th, in St. Joseph’s Church, Glanmire of Rachel Forde, Glenmire and Patrick Lomasney, son of Ann and Mike, Appletown Feohanagh. The chief Celebrant at the mass and ceremony was Fr John Duggan P.P and the con-celebrant was Fr. John Newman. Matron of Honour was Valarie Walsh and Bridesmaids were Linda Forde, Catriona Forde and Avril Foran. The best man was Tomas McAuliffe and the groomsmen were William Lomasney, Paddy Carroll, and Donal Mullane. Music was by the Ennis Gospel Choir. The Mass readers were Tom Burke and Ann Marie Lomasney. The offertory was taken up by Bridget Deviney and Ann Lomasney. Fr Duggan prayed for Rachel and Patrick to cope with the challenges of life and that their home would be one of happiness and love and blessed them on their journey through life together. Following the wedding the happy couple and their guests journeyed to the Vienna Woods Hotel for their reception, and a lovely meal and evening together was enjoyed by all. Congratulations to Rachel and Patrick, wishing the happy couple many years of happily married life together.

Tune into West Limerick 102 at 8pm on Thursday 23rd May to hear a number of interviews with personalities from the parish. The programme will be repeated on Sunday May 26th at 3pm.
