Get-togethers: The next Get-together will be held on Wednesday 29th May. Guest artist will include Willie Barr (Storyteller) and the usual bit of music & refreshments. It is hoped to have a good crowd present. The annual tour will be held this year on Tuesday 2nd July to Waterford and hopefully Tramore if weather permits. Further and final details will be given later. Names and money will be taken after next meeting on 10th June, 2013.
Sympathy: Sympathy is extended to the family, relatives and friends of Mrs Margaret Josland (a native of Carrigkettle, Kilteely) who was buried recently in England. May she Rest in Peace.
COMMUNITY ALERT: Following a meeting on the 1st May it has been decided to set up a text alert system in the Kilteely/Dromkeen area. The purpose is to give people in the community the opportunity to be actively in-volved in reducing the risk of theft and burglaries in the locality and particularly protecting our elderly neighbours. It allows the Gardai to issue text alerts to any members of the community who is registered on the system. If you are interested in being involved registration forms and information leaflets are available at Kilteely Church, Drom-keen Post Office, Aherns Shop in Kilteely, Community Office Notice board, Dromkeen Stores or contact Larry O’Grady at 086 8604099 or Mike O’Connell at 087 9481557. COMMUNITY GAMES: Our Annual Sportsday is fast approaching which will be held this year at the new Sportsfield, Knockane on Sunday June 2nd starting at 12.30pm. Programme of Events will be available shortly and will be distributed to the local sctools so that children can be starting to prepare. As there is quite a bit of expense in running a sportsday we would greatly appreciate if any business or individual that would like to sponsor races etc. please contact chairperson. or secretary as soon as possible. Athletics training for upcoming County Athletics finals starts next Friday 24th May at 6.30pm – 7.30pm. Parental help would be most appreciated .
Knockainey AFC: is celebrating its 20 year anniversary by holding a Festival this June bank holiday weekend to celebrate youth, sport and community. We have come together with Bruff Rugby Club to use their excellent facilities. Program of Events for the Weekend. Friday 31st May Jimmy Buckley & his Band, Doors open at 8:30pm. Saturday 1st June 1pm: 5km Fun Run/Walk & 10km Run. Registration from 12pm. 2pm: Family Fun Day. 8pm: Poker Classic. Sunday 2nd June 1pm: Food/Craft Fair. 3pm: Monster Bingo €2,000 Jackpot. 9pm: Parish Social with music by Nightfall & friends. Monster raffle running all weekend with the draw on Sunday night at 10pm
