PARISH “THANK YOU”GATHERING: The Parish “Thank You” Gathering is taking place this Thursday evening, 14 March, at the Woodlands Hotel in Adare.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY: Sunday Mass times will apply in the Parish this Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day; a second collection will be taken up at Masses by way of support for Irish emigrants abroad.

MARRIAGE PREPARATION COURSES: Anyone wishing to partake in the Marriage Preparation courses run by the Catholic “Accord” agency should note that booking of places is advisable six months in advance of the intended date of participation. Application forms are available from Accord at St. Munchin’s College, Corbally, tel. 061-343000.

MASSES FOR LENT: Together with the usual weekday Masses in the Parish, an additional Mass being celebrated in Raheen Church on Friday evenings at 7.30pm during Lent.

“ADORATION”: Adoration of The Blessed Eucharist takes place each Friday in Raheen Church following 10am Mass until 10pm. Adoration also takes place in Mungret Church on Wednesdays from 10am until 12noon, as well as in Crecora Church on Thursdays, following 9.15am Mass until 12noon and from 6pm until 10pm.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS: Each Friday morning during Lent, at 9.40am (prior to the 10am daily Mass), Stations of The Cross are taking place at St. Nessan’s Church in Raheen.

BRIDGE CLUB: The Social Bridge Club holds its weekly get togethers at the Millennium Centre, in Raheen on Monday mornings, commencing at 10am.

SET DANCING: Set Dancing classes take place in Mungret/St. Paul’s GAA Clubhouse; beginners classes are held on Tueday evenings, commencing at 9pm, while Advanced classes are held on Thursday evenings, also at 9pm. Anyone who is interested in Set Dancing is welcome to attend.

MUNGRET CARE CENTRE: The authorities at Mungret Care Centre wish to express their gratitude to everyone in this Parish who contributed so generously to their recent collection.

MUNGRET RECYCLING CENTRE: Local residents are reminded that the nearby Mungret Recycling Centre is open to the Public on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday each week, from 10am until 5pm.

MUNGRET REGIONAL SOCCER CLUB: Mungret Regional Soccer Club would welcome new members into its girls’ under 12 and under 14 teams; anyone interested is welcome to come to the Club grounds any Wednesday evening at 5pm.

TROCAIRE - LENTEN APPEAL: This year’s Lenten appeal continues; it is aimed at making it possible for poor people, such as the nine year old girl from an isolated community in India and her family, who are pictured on the front of this year’s Trocaire box, to somehow look forward to a better life. Trocaire Boxes were made available to Parishioners some weeks ago, through the three Churches of the Parish (Mungret, Crecora and Raheen) as well through the Schools. Trocaire, together with its supporters, continues to work on behalf of those in greatest need in the world. The 2013 Lenten campaign has as it’s theme “You Can Help Communities Work Their Way Out Of Poverty”. Parishioners are encouraged, if they have not already done so, to take a box home and to remember, during this Lenten season especially, the people of the Third World in their daily struggles to make a living for themselves. LECTURES - CHRISTIAN SPIRITUALITY: The next Lecture in the series of Public Lectures, to celebrate the Year of Faith, at Mary Immaculate College, South Circular Road, will be delivered on Tuesday next, 19 March, at 5pm when Dr. Eugene Duffy will address the topic “Thinking and Praying with The Church “; subsequent Lectures will be delivered on successive Tuesday evenings at the same commencement times, all dealing with a Christian Spirituality - related topic. The Lectures take place in Room 202 at Mary Immaculate College; admission to each of the Lectures is free, and everyone is welcome to come along.

LOURDES PILGRIMAGE: This year’s official Limerick Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from Friday, June 21 to Wednesday, June 26, and will be led by Limerick’s new Bishop, Brendan Leahy. Departure will, as usual, be from Shannon Airport, and return from Lourdes Tarbes Airport. The fully inclusive fare is €699; the Invalid fare is €599. Places in the Invalid section are limited, and the closing date for this section is Tuesday, 30 April. Any additional information can be obtained by contacting the Lourdes Pilgrimage Office at Limerick Social Service Centre, Henry Street, Limerick, tel. 314111; office opening hours there are Monday, 2pm to 4.30pm; Tuesday, 10.30am to 1pm; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 10.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 4.30pm. Any Parishioner who wishes to be considered for inclusion as a member of the Pilgrimage’s invalid section, in particular, should make application without delay. As regards the Pilgrimage in general, early booking is, as always, very much recommended.

“MARANATHA”: The Maranatha Prayer Ministry invites anyone who is interested to a Healing Retreat which is taking place this Sunday, 17 March, from 2.30pm to 7.30pm at St. Paul’s Church in Dooradoyle. The event will include Mass, the Rosary, Inner Healing Prayers, Eucharistic Adoration and Confession. Music for the occasion will be provided by the Maranatha Gospel Choir.
