CÚRSAÍ EAGLAISE: Daily masses this week are at the usual times, Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6.30pm and at 9.30am on Tuesday and Thursday. There will be no mass at 11.00am on Saturday. The anniversary mass for Annie Conroy and Tade Riordan was celebrated on Saturday evening last and for J.J. Scannell on Sunday. The anniversary mass for Kitty Carmody , Mick Carmody and other deceased members of the Carmody family will be celebrated on Sunday next, Lá Fhéile Pádraig. Beannacht Dé ar anamacha na marbh. Pupils in second class in the local Scoil Náisiúnta had their First Confession ceremony on Monday evening last. They will be receiving their First Holy Communion on Sunday May 12.
COMHALTAS: The regular weekly music classes will not take place on Monday night next, March 18 but will resume again on the following Monday March 25. All pupils who have entered for this year’s SCT exams are asked to come along on Monday night next at 7.30pm. The Co. Limerick Scoil Fonn agus Amhrán day will take place at Manister on Sunday April 7th and any of our branch members interested in attending are asked to hand in names at the next class. The day consists of workshops in slow air playing and singing. The Johnny Reidy Céilí Band will be playing at the céilí in Tournafulla on Friday night, 15th March and on Sunday night – Lá ‘le Pádraig, Striolán will supply the music for the West Limerick Setdancers céilí at the Devon Inn Hotel. AWARDS: The Devon Inn Hotel was the venue recently for the West Limerick GAA Board All Star Awards. A special guest on the night was county hurling manager John Allen. Awards were presented for hurling, football, comogie and ladies football as well as some special awards. Déanaimid comhghairdeas leo go léir.
TRAIL ACTIVITY: At 3p.m. on Bank Holiday Monday 18th March a walk/cycle along the old railway will commence from the Palatine Museum, Rathkeale. The distance is 8 miles (13Km) and return transport will be provided courtesy of Coach House Travel. Fáilte roimh gach éinne.
On the previous day, Lá Fhéile Pádraig, a fun-cycle by GST supporters will set out on a 30km (19miles) circular road trip at 10a.m. from Listowel Square via Duagh, Abbeyfeale, Great Southern Trail (for 3Km only) and Kilmorna.
