Reader for Sunday morning March 10th is Marion Brosnan and Eucharistic Ministers are Tom Clarson and Josephine Folan The Lenten Station Masses continue this Wednesday evening for the townlands of Boola, Banemore, Farrihy, Coolaleen, Lios Na Fola, Mount Plummer, Springfield and Killeen at 7.30pm and on Friday evening we have the townlands of Knocktooch, Knockglass, Lacka Upper and Lacka Lower.

Looking for a job or want to up skill, remember that on Thursday March 21st at “The Red Door” Newcastle West from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm a public open door event will take place at this central location in the Square in the heart of Newcastle West. Information on locally based courses and West Limerick Resources Rural Employment Service and other services will be available. Drom-Broadford Shave or Dye Campaign: There was a great response to the Today FM Shave or Dye event which was held on Saturday the 9th of March in Neenans Bar Broadford. The organizers wish to thank the many brave people who volunteered to shave, dye or wax for a very worthy cause and thanks to all who sponsored them.

Community Alert: - Final date for applications for Personal Alarms is Friday March 15th 2013, so anyone who is interested please make contact now with the chairman of the Community Alert committee Tom O’Brien at 063/84001 or the secretary David O’Keeffe at 063/84154.

Broadford 2013: This year’s Musical by the local society is “Nunsence” and it goes on stage in the Community Centre this week end: - Friday March 15th, Saturday March 16th and Sunday March 17th. The Final performance is on Saturday March 23rd. There will be a special performance in the Hall in Knockaderry on Friday March 22nd in aid of the Feohanagh/Castlemahon Community Hall Building Fund. Doors open at 7.15. Curtin at 8 o’clock sharp. Admission prizes are adults €10 and children €5.

The Gathering 2013: Broadford. A meeting to discuss possible events to celebrate “The Gathering 2013” continue every Monday at 9 0, clock in the Community Centre Broadford. All the clubs and organizations in the area are invited to attend as well as everyone in the community so we can discuss the entire views of the community on this National event. Everybody welcome

Active Retirement: Our meetings continue every Monday night at 7.30pm in the Day Care Centre and at the moment discussion is centered on our annual outing with Saturday June the 8th set aside for the event. Anybody wishing to travel with us please give your name to Ita O’Keeffe as soon as possible as seats are at a premium. The Pilates course is on Wednesday’s at 8pm is at full capacity and is being enjoyed by those participating who are already feeling the benefits.

Kantoher Co-Op Re-union: A re-union of those involved with Kantoher Co-Op is been organized. Any people, who may have old photos, paper cuttings, etc. in relation to Kantoher, please contact any of the following: Mick Shanahan 087/2511474, David Hayes 087/1385758, Dave Noonan 087/ 2716024 and John Carroll 087/ 2716024. All photos, etc. will be returned after making of them.

Fitness Fun Walks: These walks continue every Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights leaving the GAA field in Dromcollogher at 7.15pm. Calling all who would like to boost their fitness levels, a special invitation to teenagers on mid-term to join us this week, suitable for all ages, if you need the motivation to fill your exercise quota come and join in. Everyone is welcome.

GAA Lottery: There was no winner of the €5,000 jackpot on Monday March 4th at the Neenans Bar. The Numbers drawn were 10, 12, 24 and 30. The Match 3 prizewinner was Paddy O’Kelly Farrihy. He lucky dips Winners were John Neenan Broadford and Gillian O’Connor Dromcollogher and each received €50. The Jackpot goes to €5,100 (win or share) and the Match 3 is €100 (win or share). All sold tickets to be handed in at The clubhouse on Monday evenings before 9o’clock. Tickets are available from any member of the committee or from all business premises, tickets €2 each or three for a €5.

Parent and Toddler Group: The parent and toddler group meet every Thursday in the daycare Centre Broadford from 10:30 to 12 noon. This is an opportunity for parents, grandparents and carers to meet and chat while the children play in a safe environment. All welcome.

Dromcollogher Mart: Dromcollogher Mart under the auspices of the Golden Vale Marts continues with their Calf Sales every Wednesday night. Taking in calves from 5.30pm onwards with the sales commencing at 8 o’clock. Top buyers will be in attendance.

Cards at Neenans: The winners at the weekly 45 card drive at Neenans on Monday were Dan Barry Ashford and Dave Daly Tullylease. Second prize went to Mary and John Madigan Kilmeedy and they also collected the Spot prize. Raffle winners were 1st €35 Dan Barry, 2nd €20 Dan Barry and 3rd €10 Maura Neenan.
