FILES are being prepared for the DPP in relation to two men, who were being questioned by gardai in relation to aggravated burglaries in the Pallasgreen area.

The father, 48, and son, 19, have been released without charge after seven days of questioning.

The father, who is originally from Tipperary Town, was arrested when gardai swooped on a house in West Dublin early on Thursday morning, October 18.

Bruff superintendent, Alan Cunningham, described it as a “major garda operation”.

On the same date two men and one woman - aged between 19 and 32 - were arrested in Tipperary and Dublin. A further woman was arrested in Dublin on Tuesday. Files for the DPP are being prepared.

During separate applications to extend the period of detention of the father and son, Chief Superintendent David Sheahan said some 40 gardai were assigned to the investigation which is being conducted as “diligently and expeditiously as possible”.

The ongoing garda investigation, which is being led by Detective Inspector Eamon O’Neill, was launched after a number of aggravated burglaries took place in the Pallasgreen area in April and May.

Two men are currently before the courts in relation to a number of the incidents.
