Brown Thomas start the new season off with a fashion show which was held in The Restaurant at its Dublin shop last week.
It was a great time to catch up with the fashion pack as I hadn’t seen them since the Limerick International Fashion Student Awards 2013, which they were still talking about and how fantastic it was for the fashion industry here and abroad.
I assured them that the Limerick IFSA is going to go ahead at the end of October 2014, especially because Limerick is the national City of Culture this year and they all are looking forward to coming to Limerick again.
Back to the fantastic fashion from Brown Thomas, a few of my favourites pieces were by Victoria Beckham, Mary Katrantzou, Roland Mouret and Dolce & Gabanna without mentioning the accessories, bags and shoes out of this world.
I have said it before no matter where I travel, I always seem to bump into someone with links to our city. Courtney Cox, who is one of the top up and coming stylists in the country, whose grandmother is from Limerick and Debbie O’Donnell, executive producer of TV 3’s Xposé has lots of relations here. By the way congratulations to Cathy O’Connor, a great stylist who got engaged recently!
Lots of things happening in the fashion world at the moment, and not forgetting the bride & groom fashion, there are still a lot of wedding fairs taking place. If you fancy a trip to Miltown Malbay, to the amazing Armada Hotel, who are hosting their annual wedding fair on Sunday, February 2, where The Holman Lee Agency will be producing fashion shows, it promises to be a great day for couples with lots of special offers and prize giving.
