KILBEHENNY CELTIC F.C: There was no winner of the lotto jackpot when the numbers were drawn at the Galtee View Bar in Anglesboro on Friday night last. The numbers drawn were 6, 7, 9 and 29. The following people won €20 lucky dip prizes – John Joe Kearney, Dave Conroy and Jim Doran. The next draw will take place in the Three Counties Bar in Kilbehenny where the jackpot will be €6,300.00. Tickets are only €2. each. The Club will take part in the White Collar Boxing event in Mitchelstown in mid-March. They will be represented by Johnny Cleary. Tickets are €20 each with the Club receiving half of the takings. On this Friday night the Club will receive the takings of the Anglesboro Monthly Bingo game in the Community Hall, Anglesboro at 8.30pm.
GATHERING: On next Tuesday morningFebruary 4 after 11am mass in St. Patrick’s Church Anglesboro, people are invited to Anglesboro Community Hall for light refreshments to meet each other. It is a free event organised by the local Community Alert Group under the Chairmanship of Eddie P. Morriarty. The idea for this came about after the success of a similar event during the mission last November. It is planned to do this on the first Tuesday of every month. All are welcome.
OPEN NIGHT: On this Thursday night from 6.30pm to 8.30pm the Presentation Convent secondary school Mitchelstown will hold an open night for new students. Principal’s address is commencing at 7pm. This is a very important evening for students to help them and their parents to make their secondary school choice.
G.A.A: Galtee Gaels G.A.A Club will take part in the recently launched National Draw. All prizes are provided by Croke Park, with the first prize being a trip to Australia with the International Rules Team for two people. There are ten prizes in total - all G.A.A related. Tickets are €10 each with the Club keeping all monies raised. The draw will take place in Croke Park on St. Patrick’s day. Tickets are available from Club members. Your support would be greatly appreciated for this draw especially as it does not cast the Club any outlay. Please remember – Club na n-Og clothes collection this week end. Richard Fitzgerald has agreed to go forward to fundraise for the Club in the White Collar Boxing event in Mitchelstown in mid-March. COACHING: Coaching and Games are holding Award 1 Coaching courses. Award 1 youth is aimed at coaches coaching U13-U18. Award 1 child is aimed at coaches coaching U6-U12. Booking is essential. Course fee is €50. Participants must have a foundation award course completed. The Award 1 youth course is on in Bruff starting on February 3rd and runs for five Monday nights from 7 – 10.30pm. The Award 1 child course is on in Patrickswell on February 21st, 22nd, 28th and March 1st and 7th.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BIRTHDAY BOYS: Congratulations to Club player Andrew Breedy who was the recipient of a surprise 40th birthday party at the Three Counties Bar Kilbehenny on Saturday night last. Andrew was recently voted The Players Player of the year for 2013. Also a little birdie has informed us that Moss Fitzgerald of Kilbehenny celebrated his birthday recently – 21 again Moss plus a small bit of V.A.T! Congratulations and we hope you enjoyed!
