WEST LIMERICK SET DANCING CLUB: The WLSDC annual workshop will take place at the Devon Inn Hotel on February 7, 8 and 9. On Friday, Feb 7, there is a music and singing session followed by a céilí at 9 pm. Music by Johnny Reidy. Saturday will have a set dancing workshop from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. Céilí with the Stríolán Céilí Band. Sunday’s workshop is at 11 am with Maura Culleton followed at 2 pm with a céilí with music by Taylor’s Cross.

TOUR CÉILÍ: The next Céilí will take place in Halla Tadhg Gaelach on Friday, February 14. Music by Stríolán Céilí Band. Dancing 9 – 1. Refreshments served.

SYMPATHY: Two men from Ballycommane passed to their eternal reward recently. Con Harnett, brother of the late Dan C died in Dublin and Tim Doody, brother of Neddie, died in England. We offer our sincere sympathy to their families. Ar dheis lámh Dé go raibh siad beirt.

CHURCH NEWS: The annual parish clerk’s collection will be held next weekend. Envelopes are available at the back of the church. The reader for next Saturday night is Ellie O’Reilly.

ANNUAL PILGRIMAGE: Coursing aficionados from the parish will make their way to Clonmel at the weekend for the National Coursing Meeting at the famed Powerstown Park to experience the thrills and spills of one of Ireland’s sports. This year we have only one local representative in the form of Barrack Ellie in the Oaks. We wish Niall and Shane Curtin the very best of luck.

GAA: As many people will be aware by now, we have members of Tournafulla GAA Club out selling tickets for our Monster Raffle. We are being very well received in our neighbouring parishes. There are 10 prizes – a Ford Fiesta, €3,000, two prizes of €1,000, two prizes of €500 and four prizes of €250. All monies raised will be used for the construction of new dressing rooms and clubhouse.

MICHAEL COLLINS ON TG4: Michael Collins will perform two songs on Glór Tíre on this Wednesday night at 10.30 pm. The first will be a duet with Louise Morrissey and then a solo, both recorded in Halla Tadhg Gaelach. You can continue to vote for Michael by texting Glor3 to 53307.

As You Like It: The club is hosting four events in the coming months. On February 5th, there will be a talk on vegetable gardening and getting beds ready for the spring, among other gardening issues.This talk will be given by a certified organic grower. On Wednesday, March 19th there will be a night of meditation and the power of energy by an Energy Facillitator. On April 16th, there will be a Nutritionist to speak on diet and nutirtion, and finally on May 21st, there will be a demonstration on Flower Arranging by a local florist. All these events take place in the Teach Siamsa at 8 pm, and the fee to attend is 5 euro. These events are open to all and promise to be very interesting.
