The band, a four piece from Dublin, are being touted among critics as the most likely Irish act to make a breakthrough internationally - and the hype is more than justified in this instance.

The album, Holding Hands with Jamie, was released late last week on the high profile UK imprint, boasting the screaming guitars and propulsive rock that they have become infamous for.

And yet the album features energetic noise-rock that pulls as much influence from classic techno as from their more obvious post-punk influences - showcasing the band’s far reaching musical abilities.

Girl Band - who will now have played a number of times for booker Seoda Shows after Friday - recorded seven of the tracks in less than two days, ensuring that the record pulses with vitality, which they also offer in a live setting, for which they have become rightly renowned.
