LIMERICK’S Big Top venue - the Milk Market - is to play host to an exclusive Irish show by Mexican guitar slingers Rodrigo y Gabriela next Monday night.
The popular acoustic guitar duo will play their first gig in Limerick in over seven years this coming Monday evening, making their Big Top debut with a show in the outdoor city venue.
The exclusive Irish date for the popular duo this year is a high profile gig both for the city and for bookers Dolan’s, with Neil Dolan telling the Limerick Leader that the venue have been “chasing them to play the Big Top for a few years and are ecstatic that they will play an exclusive date with us”.
While currently living in their native Mexico, Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero were discovered in Ireland while busking on Grafton Street at the turn of the century, with Damien Rice instrumental in their discovery.
After five studio albums, three live albums and one EP they have become one of the biggest selling acoustic instrumental acts in the world, and a spellbinding live act.
Gabriela Quintero and Rodrigo Sanchez - Rodrigo y Gabriela - play the Milk Market this Monday, doors at 7pm and tickets €35 from www.dolans.ie.
