THE the Irish Chamber Orchestra perform Joyeux Noel, a festive French feast with popular classics by Saint-Saëns, Vivaldi, Francaix and Debussy, in St Mary’s Cathedral this Friday night.
Acclaimed soprano Ailish Tynan, who performed to thousands at two recent concerts in Bregenz and Wiesbaden with the ICO, will feature again for this festive programme on Friday.
Ms Tynan will sing the sensational Les Illuminations by Britten alongside some of well known Christmas carols in the stunning venue.
This year, outside of the its regular concert season and national tours, demand for the orchestra’s presence on the world stage has seen the ICO perform to capacity houses in Eindhoven, Heidelberg, Wurzburg as well as the recent Christmas concerts.
It has also has firm international plans right up until 2018, with a residency planned with the Heidelberg Frühling Festival and a ten concert tour in America planned for next year, plus scheduled performances in Cologne and at Mozartfest, Wurzburg with acclaimed violist, Tabea Zimmerman.
In the meantime, the Limerick based ICO perform in St Mary’s this Friday night.
