Meanwhile, 69 O’Connell Street plays host next to the New Theatre Dublin’s stage production of James Joyce’s A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.

The classic play, adapted for the stage by Tony Chesterman and directed by Jimmy Fay, comes to Limerick off the back of a sold-out run in Dublin.

The piece, which features Joyce’s fictional alter ego Stephen Dedalus, contains some of the most dramatic scenes in modern literature.
