THE RTÉ ConTempo Quartet and a ‘super-group’ consisting of soprano Sylvia O’Brien, cellist Christopher Marwood and pianist Michael McHale will finish off two classical music series running in Limerick.

The trio of musicians will come together in an unusual combination to perform A Romantic Voice in the All Saints Church in Castleconnell on November 17, closing out the annual concert series in the village.

The programme will include works for soprano, cello and piano by Messiaen, Berlioz, deFalla, Andre Previn and more.

Meanwhile, the RTÉ ConTempo Quartet will perform the third and final concert of the Autumn series of lunchtime shows in the City Library at the Granary on Friday, November 27 at 1pm. Entitled 20/20 Experience, the free concert will feature the music of Mozart and Schumann.

The quartet will also perform in Limerick City Gallery of Art in January in partnership with the Arts Office, which supports both classical music series.
