Troubadours have been asked to finely tune their talents as the search for Ireland’s greatest cover version begins afresh, the Le Crunch Apple of My Eye song contest returns to the airwaves on Today FM.

The nationwide search to find the next undiscovered rising star has a total prize fund of €10,000 and last year almost 1,000 budding artists from across the country, aged from 8 to 80, participated in the first hugely successful contest.

Contestants are asked to choose a song that they love, to sing and record it with all their talent and submit it online.

“The variety of songs, the assortment of ages, the quality of entries and the overall talent of the Irish are the things that really stood out in the Apple of My Eye 2013,” says Today FM’s KC, who is leading the search.

“We’re hoping that we can go even further this year in our search for something special and invite everyone who has ever tried their hand at singing a song, no matter what it is, to get involved.”

Entries can be submitted online at www.ouitolecrunch.com.

The closing deadline for entries is February 7 and the competition final will take place at The Sugar Club on March 7.
