Doon student wins Limerick’s Got Talent

A STUDENT from Doon is celebrating this week after scooping the top prize in the annual Limerick’s Got Talent competition.

A STUDENT from Doon is celebrating this week after scooping the top prize in the annual Limerick’s Got Talent competition.

Paul McNamara, an English student at Mary Immaculate College, took the best variety and overall prize at the final in the Lime Tree theatre last Friday.

He impressed the judges after producing his own poem entitled ‘La Femme’, and delivering it without any props or support.

Other winners on the night included Sketch who took best band, while the best vocalist title went to Amanda Leddin. Best dance act was given to Disco Box and best original song to rap trio True Street 
Music.

All proceeds from the show are to be donated to the Irish Wheelchair Association.
