Macronite to mark second birthday with bash

POPULAR Limerick collective Macronite mark their second birthday with a bash to be reckoned with this Saturday night in Dolan’s.

POPULAR Limerick collective Macronite mark their second birthday with a bash to be reckoned with this Saturday night in Dolan’s.

Techno and drum and bass DJ and producer CTRLS - aka Dane Troels Knudsen, pictured, one half of Northern Structures - headlines the night in the Warehouse, with support from Jamie Behan and Warren Knowls of Cork’s Bastardo Electrico label.

The Bastardo label and long running club night have hosted some of techno’s biggest names over the past decade.

Upstairs on the terrace Macronite welcome Dublin’s BigDishGo collective - Dublin based brothers Conor and Gavin Feeney and Robbie Ryan.

The bash is lined up to be a fitting one for the masterful Macronite collective, which was spawned from regular techo night Micronite in March 2011. Original Micronite residents Dan Sykes, Cian Frawley and Graeme Stackpoole made a name for themselves running nights across the city and bringing some of the top Irish and international DJs and producers here over the next few years, before then folding into the Macronite collective with other like-minded promoters in the city in 2011.

Since then the Macronite crew have excelled at running techno nights in Limerick - this Saturday will be no different.

Doors in Dolan’s are at 10pm and admission is €10.

Happy Birthday from us!
