THE Mitchelstown based Indiependence Music & Arts Festival has announced a raft of acts for this year’s festival.

Headliners for the festival, which takes place at Deer Farm, Mitchelstown, on the August Bank Holiday weekend, include hip hop legends De La Soul, UK chart toppers Bastille, beatboxer Beardyman, UK rockers The Fratellis and current Irish favourites Kodaline.

Belfast rockers And So I Watch You From Afar, up and coming electronic producer Jack Colleran - aka MMOTHS - Le Galaxie, We Cut Corners, Paddy Casey, Bosnian Rainbows and Hudson Taylor are also included on an eclectic bill.

Limerick bands Windings and Protobaby have been booked for the festival, which is just 45 minutes from the city and is popular with local music lovers.

A boutique festival, Indiependence is the brainchild of Shane Dunne, a University of Limerick graduate, and has built itself up into a major addition on the Irish festival scene from humble beginnings in the main square in Mitchelstown.

Funeral for a Friend, the Original Rudeboys, Soak, Krafty Kuts, Utah Saints, Young Wonder, The Chapters and Cry Monster Cry are all also included on a strong bill.

Organisers have also announced three brand new indoor areas at the festival, including the Bier Halle and the Darkness & Light arenas.

Indiependence Music & Arts Festival 2013 tickets are on sale now priced at €79 for three days non-camping and €99 for three days with camping. Tickets are available from Tickets.ie and usual outlets.
