AS IT prepares to celebrate its tenth birthday this year, the Mitchelstown-based Indiependence Music and Arts Festival has this morning announced a strong line-up.

Ash, Mark Lanegan Band, The Dandy Warhols, Jape, Gavin James, Admiral Fallow, Little Hours, The North Sea, Wyvern Lingo and The Flaws are the first ten acts unveiled for the three day festival, taking place from July 31 - August 2.

This year will be the festival’s sixth to take place at the green-field site of Deer Farm in Mitchelstown. At just 45 minutes from Limerick city, it is a popular one with music fans in the area, and is run by UL graduate Shane Dunne.

Indiependence started out life in Mitchelstown square before the move to the site, which is ideal to cater for the festival’s 5,000 fans.

Tom Odell, Public Enemy, Hozier, The Coronas and The Minutes all played last year.

Early bird tickets for this year’s Indiependence sold out in record time and a further ten acts will be announced at 10am on April 10.

Weekend camping tickets are now on sale at €109 from Tickets.ie.
