POPULAR Irish punk-poet and musician Jinx Lennon returns to Limerick this week for a gig in Bourke’s Bar on Catherine Street.

Lennon, currently working on his sixth album - tentatively titled Spidertown North East - brings his eye-popping show to the city, with support from Myles Manley this Thursday night.

Often called ‘the Free State Nova’, Jinx is well known for his raw, blues-tinged punk/folk anthems and baptist preacher anthems - or polemics. Imagine John Cooper Clarke and Mark E Smith outside a Dundalk chipper at 2 am in an episode of The Twilight Zone directed by Flann O Brien and you might get the jist - and those are his own words. Tickets are €6 in advance, doors 9pm.
