THE Irish Chamber Orchestra return to the UCH this November, along with principal guest conductor and artistic partner, Jörg Widmann.

Widmann will champion the music of Mendelssohn alongside his own masterworks at the November 21 gig, which will also feature an appearance by acrobatic aerial dance specialists, Fidget Feet, artists in residence at the University of Limerick’s Irish World Academy of Music and Dance.

Widmann and the ICO have been blazing a trail across Europe this year, performing at the Storioni Festival, Eindhoven, the Heidelberg Frühling Festival and the MozartFest in Würzburg and will perform Christmas concerts in Austria and Germany.

First, they return to their UCH home with a richly effervescent programme that features prodigious works by Mendelssohn alongside two exciting works by Russian composer, Prokofiev.

Fidget Feet will perform on high wires during Prokofiev’s Quintet in G minor, Op. 3, while Widmann will also include his own Duos for Violin and Cello on the varied programme.
