A host of top music producing talent come together for The Fifth Man in Limerick this Friday night.
There are a number of reasons to get excited about this event: one, the gathering in one place of five eclectic music producers to form Ireland’s only turntable ensemble and two, that the recently opened cultural hub on Lower Cecil Street - H-Q - is already up and running and hosting live music events a matter of days since opening its doors.
The Fifth Man comprises of Deviant, Mikey Fingers, mynameisjOhn (pictured above), Tweek and Djackulate, with the five piece ensemble performing works of music solely based on the manipulation of sounds from a turntable, fusing elements of hiphop, folk, trad and electronica.
All five will perform short DJ sets, followed by a 35 minute performance by the collective. Phew. All for eight euro! Get in.
Also worth checking out this weekend is Conflux Limerick, happening in both H-Q venue and Dr John’s all day this Saturday. See Conflux Limerick for more details.
The Fifth Man takes place in H-Q, 9 Lower Cecil Street, this Friday at 8pm. €8
