LIMERICK songwriter Don Mescall is taking part in a heavyweight music seminar in Dublin next week for IMRO.

LIMERICK songwriter Don Mescall is taking part in a heavyweight music seminar in Dublin next week for IMRO.

The Ahane native was selected “in recognition of his contribution to the music industry worldwide”.

Mescall will be joined by Grammy award winning songwriter Paul Williams and producer Jake Gosling, who has worked his magic with the likes of One Direction, Ed Sheeran and Paloma Faith.

The panel will discuss the craft of creating hit songs, billed as “an exclusive interview with award winning songwriters, composers and hit producers to gain an insight into the basic underlying principles of writing successful smash hits”.

Mescall has written songs for the likes of The Backstreet Boys, Ronan Keating, Boyzone, Clay Aiken and the High Kings and has established himself as a go-to songwriter in Nashville.
