THE many cloaks that Liam Ó Maonlaí covers himself with are ever more inspirational.

The former Hothouse Flowers frontman, as always a nomadic musician keen to diversify, comes to Limerick this Friday night for a very special gig with our own Brad Pitt Light Orchestra.

The Tower Of Song: The Cohen Project - or Túr Na nAmhrán: Tionscadal Cohen to give its full title as Gaeilge - has been in development for over 12 months, touring Ireland since September to much renown and fittingly comes to the Lime Tree this Friday.

Dave Blake of the BPLO and Cork’s Hilary Bow, a regular Ó Maonlaí collaborator, combine with the band to perform Irish versions of Cohen’s songs - from Suzanne to Hallelujah to First we take Manhattan - set to screen projections of the lyrics, created by Margaret Lonergan.

A show that promises to be linguistically and musically amazing, we warrant.
