UP to 4,000 pop fans of all ages flocked to The Parkway's Xtra-vision store as Irish pop sensation Jedward made a special appearance to celebrate the release of their new album, Planet Jedward.
Many fans queued outside the shop from as early as 5am to get their signed copy of the new release. The pop stars were visibly shocked at the size of the crowd, as fans from Tipperary, Clare, Kerry, Cork – and even as far away as Laois – screamed at the sight of the former X-Factor stars.
John Grimes, who forms half of the iconic duo, revealed that they still coming to grips with fame almost 12 months after their rise to stardom.
"We're still shocked with the whole thing. It's so great to be here. The last time we came to Xtra-vision we were renting a film, and now here we are signing CDs and posters," he said.
John also said how glad they were to be in Limerick, as they can visit their family who live here.
"It's an added bonus being here because we love being in Limerick so we can visit our grandmother and grandad who live here," he said.
