Two men questioned on suspicion of Limerick murder

TWO men are being questioned on suspicion of murdering Ger McMahon who was stabbed to death on the southside of the city last week.
The men, who are aged 26 and 22, were arrested by detectives at around 4pm today in the Dooradoyle area of the city.
They are being questioned at Roxboro and Mayorstone Garda stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. The arrests bring to six the number of people who have been questioned about the murder this week.
Ger McMahon, 43, who was from Raheen Square, Ballinacurra Weston died at the Mid Western Regional Hospital in the early hours of January 18 - a number of hours after he was found slumped on steps outside a house at Lenihan Avenue, Prospect.
A post mortem examination, which was conducted by the State Pathologist Prof Marie Cassidy, confirmed that he had been stabbed several times.
Four other people - including a seventeen year old girl - remain in garda custody. There are being questioned in suspicion of withholding information relating to the murder.
