Shannon to Manchester service cut by Ryanair
SHANNON Airport has suffered another blow after budget carrier Ryanair announced it was to cut its service to Manchester from October 1.
This means Shannon now has just one service heading to the North West of England - Liverpool Airport - every other day.
Bosses at the company have blamed the decision on the high charges at Manchester Airport.
Stephen McNamara said: "Ryanair continues to lower fares to encourage travel, but with passengers paying lower fares, airports must lower their charges – particularly high cost airports like Manchester, London (Stansted) and Dublin."
The budget airline have cut nine of their ten flights from Manchester Airport, with the only remaining service going to Dublin.
