Shane pipped in Mr International final

LIMERICK'S Shane Lennon has narrowly missed out on being named Mr Ireland International.

Corbally's Shane, who models with Holman Lee Agency, was pipped to the post just two weeks after coming third in the Mr Ireland 2009 finals, held in Limerick.

The former Mr Limerick, was beaten by the hotly tipped favourite Francis Usanga, who will now represent Ireland in the Mr World International finals Taiwan in November.

National Director of the Mister International Ireland franchise Deric Hartigan, who hails from Donoughmore in Limerick, said: "I think Francis is a great choice and a fantastic representation of the Mister International Ireland brand."

"Congratulations to our first runner up Shane Lennon, and indeed to all the other contestants, who did themselves proud on the night."

Shane, who works as a builder, impressed the panel of judges—which included TV3's Alan Hughes, stylist Sonja Mohlich and former Big Brother star Ray Shah and compere Amanda Brunker—with his toned physique, broad smile and charming personality.

Model agent Celia Holman Lee congratulated Shane on coming so close.

"Shane is such an enthusiastic young man, and is very proud of Limerick. He is a fantastic role model and even though he didn't win Mr Ireland International, he did us all proud here in Limerick by doing so well."
