Put on your dancing shoes for spina bifida and help Limerick association
THIS Sunday sees the first in a new weekly Sunday afternoon dancing event in aid of Spina Bifida Association in Limerick.
Dave Dineen, Adare, who raised €100,000 for the breast cancer unit in the Mid-Western Regional Hospital, is the man behind this drive to raise funds for spina bifida sufferers in Limerick.
Popular local band Nite Owls will perform in the hotel every Sunday from now until Christmas between 5pm and 8pm, providing patrons with an opportunity to dust off their dancing shoes and take to the floor.
"It is an afternoon of dancing – ballroom dancing, tango, waltzing, along with teas and coffees and a raffle with spot prizes," said Mr Dineen.
"There is a good friend of mine that helped me out and did a lot of work raising money for breast cancer and he had a few friends that suffer from spina bifida, so I said I would help him out," he revealed.
"Once the money stays in Limerick and people get something out of it, that is all that matters," he said.
The Sunday Afternoon of Dance begins this Sunda and is free as it is an introductory event. The cost from then on will be €10 per person.
