Open to Question..with the new Miss Limerick Becky Costello
IT'S been a whirlwind couple of days for the new Miss Limerick Becky Costello. On Friday she was the toast of the town and 48 hours later her boyfriend – hurler Gavin O'Mahony – was the toast of the county.
But the 19 year-old from Kilmallock is taking it all in her stride and is looking forward to representing Limerick. "I'm delighted. It's a brilliant opportunity and I'm going to make the most of it," she said.
1. Describe yourself in three words?
I'm a lady.
2. What's your favourite Limerick pub and restaurant?
Molly's is great for a night out and I love to go to Luigi Malones for dinner.
3. Who do you think is the greatest living person from Limerick - and why?
JP McManus, he does so much for Limerick. He is so generous and supports many worthy causes as well as sporting organisations. He worked hard to get where he is today as one of Ireland's most successful businessmen, which is something I admire greatly.
4. Who is your favourite band or singer at present?
At the moment I really like a new band called Florence + The Machine. I recently bought their album "Lungs" and I am always listening to it.
5. Do you prefer to shop in the city or in out-of-town malls?
I love shopping in the city. I love the atmosphere and Limerick city boasts some wonderful shops and boutiques.
6. What gets on your nerves?
Gossips and rude people!
7. What's your favourite internet site?

8.. Tell us something you're good at ...
I have a black belt in Taekwon-Do so I'd like to think I'm good at that!

Baking... just ask my poor family!

78 cents... BOOM!
11. What's the biggest issue facing Limerick city today?
Unemployment. In these times, it is unfortunate to see the number of unemployed people in, not only Limerick. but Ireland.
12. Eastenders, Coronation Street or Fair City?
I'm watching Eastenders right now!
13. If you were made Taoiseach tomorrow what's the first thing you would do?
I would definitely address Ireland's health system
14. What's your favourite film of all time?
Anything with Will Ferrell in it, he is the man!
15. Name your three favourite things about Limerick.
The people, Lough Gur and hurling!
