Limerick roads claim two lives in less than 24 hours
Invesigations are continuing after two people were killed in separate road crashes in County Limerick in less than 24 hours.
A 20 year old man died when a jeep and a car collided on the Ballingarry to Bruff road at around 9 O'clock on Friday evening.
Four other people including a young child were hospitalised following the crash which happened around two miles outside Ballingarry.
Meanwhile Gardai at Askeaton have named the Polish man who died in a road crash on the Rathkeale bypass in the early hours of Friday.
Tomasz Stelmasczczuk, 31, was the front seat passenger of a car which collided with the back of truck, which had broken down.
The driver of the car, who was also injured in the crash, remains in a critical condition at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Dooradoyle
Elsewhere a woman in her 30's remains in hospital after she was seriously injured in a road crash near Mungret Village.
The woman was struck by a car at the entrance to Mungret College at around 5.40pm on Friday.
Eyewitnesss reported that the woman was pinned against a wall following a two car collision on the main road.
So far this year 14 people have been killed on Limerick roads and six have died since the beginning of August.
