Limerick deputy Neville stays silent on expenses
FINE Gael's Deputy Dan Neville is a member of the Oireachtas Commission that has been criticised for not keeping a rein on expenses claims by former Ceann Comhairle John O'Donoghue.
But now it has emerged that the TDs and senators who sit on the commission clocked up over €500,000 in expenses themselves between December 2007 and December 2008.
And, at a reported, €75,583, Deputy Neville's expenses were the highest
recorded. However, Deputy Neville did not make himself available to answer questions from the Limerick Leader on these revelations, which appeared in a Sunday newspaper at the weekend.
Despite several phone calls, and messages left both on Deputy Neville's voice-mail and with his secretary, there was no response.
